The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have
finally call off the long strike it embarked upon for about six months. This
strike action started on the first day of July 2013 and lasted for five months.
The meeting that lead to the calling off ASUU strike was held in the federal
university of technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State on Monday, 12 December,
2013. After a long debate in the meeting, the Federal Government and ASUU
reached a decision to call off the strike. From the official desk of ASUU
president and on behalf of ASUU, student should go back to school and start
their normal school activities. and lecturers are to resume their official duty
with immediate effect.
